Kuala Selangor is a small town that was conquered by the Dutch when they invaded Selangor in 1784. It is located well off the normal tourist route and hence, still maintains its traditional "kampung" (village) atmosphere. Sabak Bernam is mainly a rice growing area. As such, Sabak Bernam's main economic activity is agriculture.
