The Seas of East Asia Knowledge Bank (SEAKB) is a comprehensive repository of information, data, and resources related to the coasts and oceans of the East Asian region. It serves as a centralized platform for knowledge exchange, research collaboration, and policy development aimed at promoting sustainable management and conservation of marine resources in this region. Launched in a cooperative project by PEMSEA, the GEF, The World Bank, and UNDP, the SEAKB repository is now maintained by PEMSEA as a public resource for policymakers, researchers, and other stakeholders in our shared seas to inform decision-making processes and support the development of effective policies and strategies for sustainable ocean governance. 

The e-Library hosts a range of scientific publications, policy briefs, best practices, case studies, reports, multimedia content, and other documents relating to the sustainable development of the seas of East Asia, covering themes including marine biodiversity, fisheries, pollution, climate change, and socio-economic aspects of coastal communities. 

Other areas of SEAKB provide detailed information on ongoing implementation of programs and projects within the framework of the Sustainable Development Strategy for the Seas of East Asia (SDS-SEA). This provides a collaborative platform for project members and those outside the project to engage on the projects’ development, facilitating the exchange of ideas, experiences, and expertise. It provides opportunities to share best practices and lessons learned, and provide further information towards addressing shared marine conservation challenges.
