Amyel Dale L. Cero is an Assistant Professor III at Cavite State University (CvSU)-College of Agriculture, Food, Environment, and Natural Resources (CAFENR) - Department of Forestry and Environmental Science (DFES). She earned her PhD in Environmental Science from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-ESF) in Syracuse, New York, as a Fulbright scholar. Her doctoral research focused on hydrologic processes across scales, from stream reaches to large watersheds.


Amyel also holds an MS in Environmental Science and a BS in Biology (Major in Microbiology) from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. At CvSU, she teaches lecture and laboratory courses under the BS Environmental Science program while actively engaging in research, extension work, and strategic university functions. Prior to pursuing her PhD, she was mainly involved on research on water quality of rivers and watershed characterization in Cavite, climate risk vulnerability assessment, and environmental impact assessment. Her current expertise focuses on integrating environmental data science into water resources management, with the long-term goal of contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and SDG 13 (Climate Action), through holistic and science-based, and locally grounded actions.
