Prof. Kenneth Mei Yee Leung
Chair Professor and Director of State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Health, CityUHK
Professor Leung is Chair Professor and Director of the State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Health at City University of Hong Kong where he also serves as Associate Dean in College of Science. His research encompasses marine pollution, ecotoxicology, marine conservation, and ecosystem restoration. He has authored >350 peer-reviewed publications in these areas. Globally, he is among the top 1% most cited researchers in Ecology and Evolution according to Research.Com. He has received many accolades including Biwako Prize for Ecology by the Ecological Society of Japan; Fellows of the Royal Society of Biology, Royal Society of Chemistry, and Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry. Owing to his dedicated community services, he was selected as one of the “Ten Outstanding Young Persons” for Hong Kong in 2010, appointed as a Justice of the Peace in 2018, and conferred with the Bonze Bauhinia Star by the Hong Kong SAR Government in 2025.
